OUR STORY
"He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers[....]" - MALACHI 4:6

Trevor Mosley, the director for Mountain People Recovery, met Jack Henley became ministry partners in 2017 while both were working in recovery ministries in South Carolina. In 2021, both Trevor and Jack moved to Greeneville, TN following the call to help the lost and broken find Jesus in the Appalachian area the majority of whom are addicts. Abel Carrico pastor of The Rock Church, has been in Greeneville, TN, since 2012 - faithfully tending the ground that is Greeneville , following Gods call to help the lost and broken find Jesus. Trevor and Jack partnered in ministry with Abel in 2021. Together, these three men answered the call to disciple men to follow Jesus.

In early 2022, the doors to Greene County Detention Center were open to Trevor Mosley and Abel Carrico to preach the gospel to men who were bound by the continuous cycle of addiction and sin. Abel and Trevor had the privilege of baptizing over 125 men as well as sending them to facilities and treatment centers that were known and trusted, but they both felt the Lord leading them to start something different that could disciple men well.
February 3rd, 2024, Mountain People Recovery started its operation of going and grabbing men out of the deep trenches of addiction, and restoring them to their rightful place, as sons of God. Our staff consists of Trevor Mosley (Program Director), AJ Crawford (Program Manager) who with his wife Shoshannah, moved from Florida to follow the call of Jesus for their lives and to help pioneer Mountain People Recovery, Nicholas Davidson (Program Supervisor) who surrendered his life to help to pioneer the vision.

Mountain People Recovery is a 12-15 month intensive residential discipleship program consisting of drug treatment, Biblical counsel, Biblical curriculum, the 12 steps -AA/NA curriculum, emotional-mental healing, job and life skills. We don't want you to be functional, we want you to be free.
We not only accept men who have never been in a program , but also men who have completed programs like Teen Challenge who need restoration. Students at MPR will be completing five contracts, which progress into more advanced recovery treatment as the student completes each contract. Upon graduation, which is the successful completion of all five contracts and the character development required for each one, students are required to complete a six month internship at which time they will develop an exit strategy under the supervision of the pastors, staff, and counselors of Mountain People Recovery.
