OUR
STORY

Founded by Trevor Mosley and Pastor Abel Carrico, Mountain People Recovery took root in Greeneville, Tennessee, as a response to the deep need for lasting transformation in the Appalachian region. After baptizing more than 125 men through their jail ministry at the Greene County Detention Center, Trevor and Abel felt God calling them to create a place where discipleship, not just detox, would define recovery.

With the support of Jack Henley and other early partners, Mountain People Recovery officially opened its doors in February 2024 to rescue men from addiction, restore them to their rightful identity, and release them into a new life of faith and purpose.

Today, our team continues to go into the trenches, reaching those bound by addiction and showing that true freedom isn’t found in a program—it’s found in a person: Jesus Christ.
